DeSean Jackson hold out “for the long haul”

Any fans heading up to Lehigh to get a glimpse of DeSean Jackson may want to reschedule their trip.

According to Howard Eskin of 610WIP, DeSean Jackson’s hold out is “for the long haul” and that the star wide out will not be in camp “anytime soon.” This is according to what Eskin has been told.

While Jackson has not been fined yet, he is not fair away from starting to be fined $30,000 dollars for each day he misses. Some believed that new increased fine would cause Jackson to come in sooner rather then later, but that apparently will not be the case. Any Eagles fan hoping this may come to a peaceful resolution should remember this: Jackson is represented by Drew Rosenhaus, the power agent who represented Terrell Owens during his hold out a few years back.

Will Jackson end up in his driveway doing sit ups? Most likely not. But if Jackson is forced to come in due to fines without a deal, he will not be a happy camper.

Any chance of Jackson rethinking his position probably came to a halt yesterday when Leonard Weaver was released. Weaver got his big contract, only to be hurt the next time he took the field in a regular season game. Jackson knows that all the bad PR and fines in the world will add up to the potentially $10 million dollars a year he could loose if he reports and gets hurt.
