The Eagles have finally signed a player other then an undrafted rookie free agent.
Running back Dion Lewis, the Eagles fourth round selection out of Pittsburgh, has agreed to a 4 year deal worth just over 2.2 million, according to Adam Caplan.
The salary breakdown, according to Aaron Wilson of Scout.com, is this: $370,000, $465,000, $555,000 and $745,800. His signing bonus was $188,000.
Lewis is expected to be LeSean McCoys backup, a role he played in Pittsburgh as well. The speedy back should also play a role similar to McCoy, as they have the same strengths.
Hopefully now that he is signed, Lewis can get in to the classroom with McCoy and learn the Eagles blocking system- something that will be key to him seeing the field this season.
